| The End to the Happy Face Toolbar |
|
If you have ever created a custom toolbar, chances are you have experienced Happy Face syndrome. When AutoCAD is unable to locate the tool button icon, it will replace it with a happy face or question mark.
In 2009, under Options, on the Files tab, you now have the ability to set the location for all your custom icons...thus ending Happy Face Syndrome forever.
I always recommend you store any custom routines, icons, templates, etc. as far from AutoCAD and the AutoCAD defaults as possible. That way if you have to reinstall the software or install a service pack, you won't inadvertently blow away all your hard work. |
| ELLIPSE TOOL IN AUTOCAD |

Creating an Elliptical Arc
In older versions of AutoCAD, if you wanted to create an elliptical arc, it could be extremely painful depending on how far back you go.
This command was introduced a couple of releases ago, but I really like it. You set the start point of the arc and the included angle. This new tool on the Draw toolbar makes it easy to access the command.
This one's a winner, folks, check it out!
