 Another Free Lisp Routine

Alan J. Thompson from Tallahassee, Florida writes:

I've been reading on how to write a lisp that will calculate the slope between 2 points. I want it to prompt for the first elevation, the second elevation and then prompt to select 2 points (the 2 points for the distance). Then it will place a piece of multiline text in the middle of the 2 selected points looking like: 22 LF @ 2.22%. if this is a possibility, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, Alan requested this back in August, but good things come to the patient.  Here's the routine, fully commented and open for you to edit to your needs as well.

 When Isolation is Good

Both Inventor and SolidWorks have the ability to isolate components.  I am using this feature alot when I am working in a large assembly and I want to mate two parts together and it is hard to select the right features to mate.  I simply select the two parts I want to constrain together, right click and select 'Isolate'.  I then apply the necessary mates.

An an added bonus, by displaying just the components I am interested in at the moment, my display interface speeds up tremendously...I can add my constraints, zoom, and rotate without getting bogged on as the display tries to keep up with the entire assembly.  Hurrah!
