If you have several DWF files that you would like to
merge into a single document, Shaan Hurley, from
Autodesk, has posted a utility that you can use.
To use MergeFiles, just drag-and-drop a bunch of DWF's onto the application and publish. You'll get all your files into a single DWF 6 file that you can then print in a batch using AEV. |

Back when Projects were first introduced, users
basically were just setting up a folder to store their
files...then in later releases, users had to decide
between Shared/Single User/Semi-Isolated. The
array of choices was confusing and annoying to
many users.
Now, that Autodesk has introducted Autodesk Vault - which allows users to check files in and out - they are going back to the simple way. If you want to use Projects, no problem...but you have one choice and only one choice - single user. If you have legacy projects that are set up as Shared or Semi-Isolated, you can still use them in R10. If you still want to be able create shared or semi-isolated projects, you can enable that ability in the General Tab of the Application Options dialog. However, be aware that these project types may not be supported in future releases of Inventor. |

All is not well in my world of DWF. My PublishToWeb
command does not work properly and no help appears
to be on the horizon.
The problem arises due to pathing issues as near as I can tell. I have set my templates path to point to my network server....this is where my company templates are. The PublishToWeb tool wants the templates to be in the default path. Well, too bad. I copied the PublishToWeb (PWT) files over to my templates folder and was able to get the PublishToWeb dialog to advance all the way to the Preview pane, only to freeze when I went to preview the webpage. Stay tuned and I'll let you know if I ever come up with a fix for this minor annoyance...hey, I can create webpages from scratch, if I have to. |
