Autodesk Introduces the Legacy Program

If you are still using AutoCAD 14 and starting to feel just a little bit bummed because vendors and clients are on 2005, Autodesk has a new deal - just for you. 30% OFF for the latest and greatest seat of software. It isn't as great a deal as an upgrade price, but it beats paying full retail.

Contact your local reseller to take advantage as this offer will expire soon.

Revit 7 Text Now Available!

My Revit 7 textbook is now available for purchase from Schroff Development. This text is meant for classroom instruction or those users who want a process-based, step by step path to get familiar with the software.

The publisher hadn't updated the website yet to reflect the new text, but you can email for information....schroff@schroff.com.

Adding a Folder to the Saveas Dialog

If you want to do a SaveAs in AutoCAD 2005 and you are constantly switching between the same folders, you may want to add the folder to the left hand panel of favorite folders instead of browsing to the desired path each time.

  1. Go to File->SaveAs.
  2. Browse to the folder you want to add to the left panel.
  3. Place your mouse over the left panel.
  4. Right click and select 'Add Current Folder'.

The Zoom Object Tool in AutoCAD 2005

AutoCAD 2005 introduces a new Zoom tool....simply select an entity and the view screen will automatically zoom into that object.
