The Most Popular Link
I am embarassed to say that the most popular link -
with fifty-five click-throughs was a lisp routine I wrote.
I wrote the routine because I was getting frustrated
aligning some text objects in an AutoCAD drawing I was
working on. It was extemely tedious selecting each
object, right clicking on the Properties dialog and then
inputting the correct coordinates.
So, I wrote this routine to quickly allow me to line up
objects either horizontally or vertically. A reader
submitted an updated version of the routine which
allowed it to work in any UCS, but most users were
content with my down and dirty fix.

CAD Standards Comes In Second
The second most popular link was to a CAD standard.
This shows that there is a real hunger out there by
users on standardizing their processes and drawings.
This link had 54 click-thrus.
The A/E/C CADD Standard has been developed by The
CADD/GIS Technology Center to reduce redundant
CADD standardization efforts within the Army, Navy, Air
Force and Corps of Engineers. The standard is part of
an initiative to consolidate existing CADD drafting
standards into a format generic enough to operate
under various CADD software packages (such as
MicroStationŽ and AutoCADŽ) and to incorporate
existing industry/national standards.

And Autodesk comes in Third
Would you believe it? A link to an Autodesk webpage
came in third with forty-one click-thrus. Even more
amazing it was to the page that allows you to
download their DWF Viewer.
So, now I must officially eat crow...users obviously are
smarter than I am and know a good thing. DWF rocks!
So, if you haven't checked out DWF, wait no longer as
you are now officially technically disadvantaged. Oh,
did I mention it's FREE?
And the folks at Autodesk's DWF group owe me a free
Diet Coke (I don't drink coffee), as I obviously have
boosted their audience.

This also shows that there is a need and interest in on-
